Cefla Finishing obtains "clean biogas"

Our Depuration Business Unit within Cefla Finishing Group has recently contributed to the development of a new process for the production of ‘clean’ biogas from landfills or renewable biomasses, to be used as alternative fuel to produce electric and thermal power.

Basically, CEFLA’s project included 3, interconnected phases:

1) Continuous determination of the physical and chemical composition of the raw and purified biogas;

2) Choice of the adsorbent matrixes suitable for selectively removing noxious chemicals at the biogas burning motors (purification) in order to produce energy;

3) Testing and eco-optimisation of the burnt biogas discharged to the atmosphere.

The installation built by CEFLA, in particular, integrates chemical testing in the working process in an immediate, effective manner – as an alternative to lab-based testing.

This project represented a great opportunity for CEFLA to successfully contribute to alternative energy production, in line with world-wide requirements of energy production from renewable sources
